The new ‘smart’ Discus is unlike most LED downlights available today. Equipped with a smart, fully-adjustable mounting bracket, retaining springs and slide adjustment, Discus is ideal for retrofit applications to replace recessed downlights. With the ability to fit any ceiling cut out between 65mm and 205mm; be mounted onto a suspended or monolithic ceiling; and wall-mounted, it makes retrofitting a simpler task, while facilitating direct screw fixing. And it’s good news for electrical wholesalers too, as only one luminaire instead of three can be held in stock.

Add flicker-free lighting from an integral driver with a smooth dimming option and you have an ultra-smart LED downlight made for all types of interior commercial, educational, public and domestic environments. Plus, with a chamfered ultra-thin profile – only 18mm deep – and an optional satin silver bezel attachment, you can achieve a discreet and aesthetically-pleasing appearance that complements any environment. But that’s not all.

Smart energy saving

The Discus’ energy saving level is next generation. In addition to an 18W dimmable version, the range also includes a wattage selectable option with a discreet switch that can set the wattage to 10W, 15W or 18W. As well as saving energy, this switch can adjust the lumen output too, so you can use the same luminaire in any application. From corridors and waiting rooms to public WCs, the Discus prevents overlighting and wasted energy anywhere.

And if these energy-saving features aren’t enough, some of the Discus range also have an integral PIR motion sensor with photocell override. Ideal for stairwells, corridors and storage rooms, this ensures that it only turns on when an area is occupied and turns off after a short time delay. And for places with ample daylight, the photocell override ensures that Discus only turns on when the area is occupied, without enough natural light. Saving the user even more energy and money.
